Smile Club Ni has partnered with the students of Stranmillis University in order to recruit excellent Leaders for our activities scheme. Our Leaders demonstrate an enthusiasm and passion for working with young people. Students undergo a rigorous recruitment process and offer expert teaching skills in the follow areas:

Arts &crafts


Langauge skills

As well as having experience in a wide range of skills are Summer School Leaders are Primary trained. They also undergo an extensive staff training program with Smile Club Ni.

Summer activities scheme co-ordinator

Mr. Sheppard / Physical Education Teacher R.B.A.I.

The summer scheme will be co-ordinated by Mr. Sheppard, a teacher with 15 years experience. Mr. Sheppard currently coaches the U14 rugby team and has a been head coach at R.B.A.I. for six years. Having been former Head of Rugby at Gordons School in Surrey and ex London Welsh player. Mr. Sheppard will also be leading all the swimming sessions.

Group Leader

Chloe Armstrong  : Chloe has many experiences working with young people in a range of situations and especially focused on drama and music. She has achieved a Grade 8 in singing. Chloe has also worked with young people teaching music.She has offers among her skills, grade 6 speech and drama. She has performed in musical theatre shows such as Les Miserable, Grease and Joseph and enjoys taking part in all aspects of (singing acting and dancing)

Nathan Armstrong / Stranmillis College : Nathan is an Ambassador for Sport and has been involved in a number of volunteer and leisure projects. Nathan specialises in rugby, football and a range of sports and continues to play for Kings Scholars.

Adam Baird / Stranmillis College : Adam has worked as a Youth Leader in many situations and has experience in drama and ICT. He has also abilities to lead in basketball and badminton. As a Cadet Leader, orienteering and such activities will suit Adam’s adventure capabilities.

Alisha Bartlett / University of Ulster : Alisha has level one accreditation soccer qualification by the Irish FA with expertise in tennis netball coaching. Alisha also plays play Gaelic football and camogie for GAA club, St.Endas GAC. She can deliver the wider range of additional sports we offer on camp.

Group Leader

Abbie Wilson / Performed in musicals with Belvoir Players and Ravara Productions such as Hairspray, Into the Woods and The Addams Family. Irish Dancer, Irish dance teacher, Grade 7 flute, Former Sullivan Upper School pupil, Girls Brigade leader, experience in leading summer camps involving dance and drama.
